For the first time in his OEA career coach Marcelo Mendes failed to take his team to FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup 2011 to be held in Italy. OAE lost to Ian with a score 6:2 and lost the chances to get to the final stage.
It should be noted that Japan and Oman has met in the final and Japan won with a score 2:1.
