Azerbaijan Beach Soccer Federation (ABSF) has started activities in 2008.

Farid Novruzi was appointed President of ABSF; national team was organized In June-September, 2008 Gustavo Enrique Zlokovik Silva (Guga) was appointed coach of the national team. Practice sessions were held.

During March, 2009 – September, 2010 national team plays with new coach - Emil Jabbarov.

In short time AFFA built a beach soccer training pitch in “Dalgha” Sport & Resort Complex (Mardakan). Later, in August, it was built an international standard stadium on the territory of that pith. In September international “European Cup 2008” games were held at the mentioned stadium. It should be noted that Azerbaijan, participating in the competition as the host country, had taken the 3rd place.

Beach Soccer is considered as one of the most dynamic soccer games, and Azerbaijan is known as a leader among European countries due to very strong performance on the beach soccer grounds. In order to develop soccer and healthy life-style in the country Azerbaijan Beach Soccer Federation popularizes beach soccer as a base of other soccer type games.

More than 2 million people watch football games. The most part of them are aware about the achievements of our national beach soccer team and support the team with pleasure. Soccer games are shown on leading TC channels: AzTV Idman, Lider TV, Eurosport, Eurosport 2 etc.

It should be noted that national beach soccer team achieved mane successes. In 2009 Azerbaijan national team participated in Castellon Qualifier for FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup and reached quarterfinal. Later, our nationals participated in BSWW Euro Beach Soccer League 2009 and passed to promo final as group leader. Thereby, Azerbaijan national beach soccer team became on of the 10 most powerful teams of Europe.

On May 10-16, 2010 our team participated in international “Alanya Cup 2010” and won the 2nd place. On July 2-4, 2010 Azerbaijan national team took part in Euro Beach Soccer League held in Lignano, Italy, and won the ticket (as a group leader) to EBSL 2010 promo final in Lisbon, Portugal (August 24-27). On July 11-18 our nationals participated in FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Qualifier in Bibione, Italy, and reached the 1/8 stage. On 22-23 July Azerbaijan team participated in “Crocs Challenge Cup” in Holland and won the 3rd place.
