After last year’s sensational BSWW Euro Cup at Rome’s top historical venue Circo Massimo, the 2010 edition is just around the corner. The top 8 European beach soccer squads are striving for the kick-off of the championship.
It’s time for Spain to defend its 2-year title against their hungry rivals: France, Portugal, Russia, Switzerland, Italy, Poland and Hungary.
After beating Switzerland in 2009 and claiming the second crown for Europe, Spain’s opponents have reinforced their strategy to win the battle of 2010. Switzerland and Portugal are surely some of the favourites to ascend as kings of the BSWW Euro Cup 2010. The hosting team, Italy, aims to achieve a higher score than last year when they were wiped out at an early stage by Hungary with an unexpected 5-2.
Rome, ancient home of the gladiators, will host the first big BSWW event of the year expecting over 12,000 visitors to roar up the atmosphere on the grandstands during the matches. The city will be in preparations for two weeks to, once again, offer spectators a glorious fight for the crown of Europe.
